Playschool near me, and you . . .
Playschool is a term that means informal learning through play for under fives. It was also the name for a BBC television program for children which run until 1988. So if you remember Playschool you are showing your age! However it has nothing to do with modern early years education. The two accepted terms in the UK are Preschool and Nursery. Preschool often refers to sessional childcare during school term times and Nursery refers to childcare for the whole day usually starting early and ending later. However both terms are used interchangeably. For this reason Ofsted refers to childcare as being sessional care or full daycare.
Rushmore House Montessori preschool is a sessional childcare setting with extended days and a Holiday Club for the school holidays. The preschool is in Pratts Bottom village:

The preschool is in a former church which was converted into a preschool. We installed low level child toilets and washbasins to promote self reliance and self confidence. Low level shelves are used to present activities so your child can select activities of their choice, by themselves.
There is a large outdoor play area with a mud kitchen, a growing area and an astro turf play area.
Children can start on their second birthday.
We have places for immediate start
Your child will be assigned a Key Person who will help them to settle in, make friends and get the most from our extended Montessori curriculum, which encompasses the EYFS. After four weeks your child’s key person arranges a meeting at the preschool to discuss your child’s progress with settling in.
We can help you to find information to access all funding types including Tax-Free Childcare, 15 hours free childcare and:
30 hours free childcare

We are one of only two MEAB accredited Montessori preschools in Orpington and we are very proud of this achievement. The accreditation is awarded after a two stage onsite inspection process and of the 700 Montessori preschools in the UK, only 124 are accredited and only 2 are in Orpington.
